Oftentimes, Christianity is viewed as being a single religion that is basically the same across all denominations; however, there are diverse beliefs among the numerous denominations that can make them quite different with regard to their doctrines and practices. While many of us are raised to practice the same religious beliefs that our families honor, not all of us feel that our family's religion is a particularly good "fit" for us. This sometimes leads to a person rejecting religion completely, simply because the beliefs with which they are most familiar don't resonate with them. In cases like this, it is often worthwhile for a person to explore other avenues, in search of spiritual practices that suit their own personality and outlook on life more precisely. This can be an adventure in learning as well as beneficial in expanding our views, and may even result in us finding that an entirely different religion, or even just a different denomination within our current religion, resonates more deeply with our soul. So if you haven't yet found a religious practice that seems as if it is for you, but still want to experience the sense of fellowship and belonging that often accompanies adherence to a particular religion or religious denomination, you may want to consider broadening your base of knowledge about various spiritual practices and beliefs, instead of just rejecting the concept of religion in its entirety. Such an exploration may leave you pleasantly surprised, in that you just might find that there is a religion with which you can identify more closely, and if so, such a discovery may even lead you to a greater sense of fulfillment in life.

I have many years of study in Roman Catholicism, and am also very familiar with the beliefs and practices of Jehovah's Witnesses and the Religious Society of Friends (also known as Quakers). My studies in these areas revealed that there can be quite a bit of difference among the various denominations of Christianity, and I also learned that they were nothing like what I had assumed or imagined from an outside perspective.
